Duncan Galletly Award for Excellence in Education

21 June 2024

Since 2003 the New Zealand Resuscitation Council has awarded the Duncan Galletly New Zealand Resuscitation Council Health Professional Instructor Trophy to recognise excellence in training delivery by a New Zealand Resuscitation Council health professional instructor or provider centre.

The actual trophy was retired some years ago and the award is now called the Duncan Galletly Award for Excellence in Education.

The purpose is to recognise instructor excellence through:

  1. Sustained excellence in resuscitation education delivery
  2. Contribution that improves resuscitation education performance or service
  3. Significant contribution to a major resuscitation education project
  4. Special service to the New Zealand Resuscitation Council or the CORE Instructors of New Zealand (CINZ)

The last recipient, in 2018, was Steve Jenkins from Palmerston North.

The team at Emcare were awarded the 'Duncan Galletly award for excellence in Resuscitation Education' for their dedication and commitment to the training of health professionals in advanced life support.

Well done Emcare!  As a team, you consistently go above and beyond to ensure a high standard of education is set and maintained.
